My first original flower-collage pattern

My good friend, Sara, saw my flower collage quilts and said, “I’m into pelicans. Do you think you could make a pelican?”

I said, “No, I don’t think so.”

Bu then I kept thinking about it. Couldn’t get it out of my mind. I love to see pelicans on the Missouri River, where we spend an awful lot of time in the summers — fishing, floating, swimming, jumping off cliffs, and picnicking. They are so majestic.

So, it was inevitable. I was going to at least give it a shot.

A few weeks later I gave it to Sara, who was in tears. It hangs in a prominent spot in her beautiful home, adding a splash of color, texture, and Missouri River majesty.

It measures 35″ x 40.” Patterns for this lovely bird are coming SOON!

Meet Petals, the pelican.
